And yet I never watched a single airing of A Christmas Story over the holidays. I long for the day when Elf becomes the classic Christmas movie. Really, I do.

I disagree. It was funny, but not that funny. Maybe the DVD version is better.
And shame on you for not watching A Christmas Story.
I do feel bad about missing A Christmas Story; I'll watch it doubly next December, I promise.
