Seven weird superheroes
Here's seven weird superheroes that will, unfortunately, or maybe rather fortunately, never make it to big screen. I think I used to room with #4 in college...

A bit tyred
Reading the latest issue of Black Static has taught me one thing...
I do not like the British spelling of tire as tyre. I cannot explain why. It just bothers me. Bring on the colours, centres, and bloody blokes. Just no more screeching tyres.
That is all.

Weird weather
Last night it was cold. Then it snowed and stuck. I've woken up to sunshine and no snow on the grass anymore. How odd.
I need nicer weather as soon as possible. Not the blistering dry heat of the summer, but nice park weather. I want to go sit on the grass and finish all these books I have piled up here. Staying inside all this time is making me cranky.

Nine unique structures to be built soon

Some of these designs are crazy looking. The future is coming sooner than later...but when are we going to get flying cars? Huh? I'd rather have that than a building shaped like a giant drill.

Some changes, perhaps
In comparison to the thousands of other bloggers out in the e-world, I'm pretty terrible. I post sparingly, and generally it is just a long review that I'm mostly positive no more than three people read. And what's worse, I put a lot of time into them, really try and think about what I've read, and then worry what others will do to my feeble thoughts. Why? It doesn't matter, really.
With that said, I'm cutting back on reviews. I will continue with my gig at The Fix Online, but other than that I won't be taking on any more assigned (er, meaning promised) reviews. Just not worth the time and effort in the long run. Of course, I'll comment on stuff I'm reading when I can, but if it isn't some huge dive into the meaning of life and so forth then no biggie.
So, about being a bad blogger. I'd like to change that, post more interesting things, get a wee bit more personal, but there's a problem: I've already separated my personal life from Wistful Writings with my daily journal comic at MyLifeComics. I mean, I save most of the things that happen for over there, leaving this place to be the hot-spot for any and all things pertaining to my writings. Hah, I said hot-spot. As if.
But I'd like to talk more about things here. About music, about animals, about videogames, about food, about anything I feel like I want to.
I'm in a weird mood tonight. Might be the fact that I'm working on a short story about civilized cannibals (aren't they all?) and kidnapped little girl. Odd, creepy stuff. You know, my usual shtick.
Also, song lyrics will re-enter my life, just because...
You're the echoes of my everything,
You're the emptiness the whole world sings at night.
You're the laziness of afternoon,
You're the reason why I burst and why I bloom
You're the leaky sink of sentiment,
You're the failed attempts I never could forget.
You're the metaphors I can't create to comprehend this curse that I call love..
How will I break the news to you?

Not posting
I wanted to post something today. I really did. I have things to talk about, things to work out with words.
But I'm not going to now. Except for this little thing. How's that for cryptic?

Word of the year
"w00t" is named the word of year by Merriam-Webster Inc., and all I have to say to that is: Ha, you bunch of grammar n00bz just got pwned big time!
But seriously, w00t? I use it all the time, but that doesn't make it good.

Huh, how about that?
I just reached the point in the novel-in-progress (which I'm not talking about yet) where Microsoft Word has informed me that there are too many spelling errors for it to keep track of. Nice! Personally, I was getting tired of seeing those squiggly red lines every time I typed a character's name. Don't blame me for their spelling, Microsoft Word. Blame fantasy as a whole.

Bakery, a good topic
So, as you know, I'm writing this novel thing and there's quite a few bakeries in my magical city. Why? Well, I like a nice fresh loaf of bread or honey scone just as much as the next fellow. Anyways, I needed to look something up about bakeries and thought to see what Wikipedia had to say on the subject.
Not much. But this comment, which has not been edited out yet, has just about made my night:
Oh, Wikipedia. You silly thing.
Here's the link to the article. I hope that line never gets removed.

Sporty Spec TOC
The Table of Contents for Sporty Spec: Games of the Fantastic has just been posted. I'd originally joked with its editor, Karen A. Romanko, that it was nice being first when she'd originally listed authors in alphabetical order. Well, after all has been said and done, "The Sport of Kings" is still first to go. Woo!
One day I'll talk about how much it sucks to be first in everything, alphabetically that is. You know, first to walk to graduate, first called on to do pull-ups in front of an entire gym class, first to give an oral presentation in French. Those sorts of things. Of course, if I'm ever to be on a bookshelf I'll be up nice and high, eye-level and ready to be grabbed. And ahead of Piers Anthony, too!

Emmy in a Box
In phallic news, Justin Timberlake and that other dude get an Emmy nod for their "Dick in a Box" SNL Digital Short for the Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics category. No wintry holiday is complete without a viewing of the genius that is "make her open the box."
Click the link to see the video again. And then hope for the best. This should totally win. I'm completely serious.

Good ol' Weird NJ
Just stumbled across this. Yeah, that first guy you see driving that crazy car (Hoop) is actually just down the road from me. Well, his cars are at least. I haven't seen him, but those cars are hard to miss. Gotta love good ol' weird New Jersey.
